Resistance bands are a great way to add variety and new challenges to your workout. Light weight and compact resistance bands are perfect for travelers and for exercising anytime.
Rubber fitness bands are recommended for physical therapy or just targeting muscle groups that need special attention. Resistance Bands are great for flexibility and movement exercising.
Daily Workout: Weights vs. Resistance bands?
They both have their ups and downs to them and really it is a personal choice. Resistance bands are better on your joints. Free weights might be quicker but it could be painful.
Resistance bands would probably be better for improving your speed.
With the bands you are only limited by your own imagination. There are hundreds of exercises that you can do to keep from never getting bored with your workouts.
How You Use The Weights Or Resistance Bands?
Lighter weight with more reps on either would improve strength and heavier with less reps would probably help bulk quicker. Finally, I would recommend to you resistance bands. Resistance bands are the only thing I use to workout with.
Example: 35 lb is most likely the max resistance that band can provide, but not what you will get for all exercises.
Start with curls, and if the band in not stretched at the beginning of the curl you will be getting a small fraction of the resistance as you slightly stretch the band during your curl than you would if at the beginning of the curl the band was already substantially stretched and you are stretching it more during the curl.
Also note, you exercise with two bands, so It would be 35 lb per side, but you can double that to 70# if you pull both ends at the same time with one hand (or leg).
How you control tension and resistance with resistance band?
The tension is relative to how far you pull the bands. For example, you feel far more resistance with them doing squats as opposed to biceps curls.
So let’s review two popular brands and see how they compare.
There are 2 types of resistance bands, regular and tubular. The regular bands are often used in Pilates. The tubular resistance bands have handles on them and are often used more in strength training.
Resistance bands are available in a variety of different levels or difficulties. These are determined by the color of the band. For example green may be for beginners with little resistance, yellow may be for intermediate or medium, and red for difficult.
Choose the band that’s right for your fitness level, don’t be tempted to try a more difficult resistance band if you are new to exercising as you could hurt yourself. You could do the exercise first without using the resistance band in order to warm up.
Black Mountain Resistance Band
The band measure 48 inches, and include cushioned foam handles to ensure a secure, comfortable grip. The bands come with a convenient door anchor, so you can do your exercises anywhere in the house.
Resistance bands are a great alternative to free weights and workout machines. They are also perfect for all types of physical therapy including rehabbing torn rotatory cuffs, bad elbows, and damaged knees.
Using a band you can do some of the latest workout routines, including P90X, CrossFit, TurboJam and Insanity.
Resistance Band is Perfect Workout Tool
Working out with flat resistance bands will strengthen, stretch, tone and shape your body without adding bulk.
Use the rubber fitness bands four times a week for just 15 minutes a day and you’ll see and feel a difference in no time.
You can use these long elastic resistance bands for these workouts: Ideal for Pilates, yoga, toning and strengthening exercises.
Getting Results You Want Quickly With Resistance Band
The trick to getting the results you want quickly is to pull out your band and workout. In just 15 minutes a day, 4 times a week you will see and feel the difference. Working out with elastic exercise bands will strengthen, stretch, tone and shape your body.
I looked forward to using the bands as I thought it would be a great way to fit in movement throughout the day. I get much less movement throughout the day than I used to.
You can combine more than one cord for a more useful exercise. We can duplicate many different bands by combining more than one cord to the handles. I love the versatility this gives us at a much lower price than the regular cords with fixed handles.
Super Exercise Band 7 Ft
Resistance bands can give equal or greater tension than dumbbells. It also allows you to increase or decrease the tension without having to drop a heavy weight to pick up another.
You can use these long elastic resistance bands for these workouts: Beachbody, P90X, Yoga, Pilates, Zumba.
Certain moves with the resistance bands have very little resistance when the band shortens but lots when it is tightened. My suggestion is to start off with bands if you are a beginner or low on funds, but if you really want a proper workout, go with weights.
How is weight distributed with resistance bands?
Resistance bands will give great results if you only commit 20 minutes a day for exercise. Now, I was trying to slim down not build muscle. I ended up buying fitness band and really enjoyed the results I saw with it.
Using bands you can make loops to add resistance, so you are not having to buy several different dumbbells.
Are Resistance Bands Effective?
Resistance bands provide resistance just like dumbbells. There are two primary differences. Resistance bands tend to be more versatile–meaning you can use them in ways that you can’t use dumbbells.
You can use them with your legs, your abs, etc. whereas you can only hold dumbbells in your hands so you can only use them for certain exercises.
Resistance bands tend to also build lean, toned muscles, whereas with dumbbells you can, if you wish, bulk up. You can build lean, toned muscles with dumbbells as well, but you don’t tend to bulk up with resistance bands.
So, they are very effective and I would recommend them to anyone. Your muscle is technically “unconscious” so therefore it cannot tell whether it is lifting a weight or pulling on resistance bands. It is actually better on your joints and that is why I recommend them.
3 Different Resistance Bands Included
This set is perfect as it has 3 different resistance bands included and they are very very clearly labeled so you don’t have to remember which one is light, which one is medium or which one is heavy.
The Red Band is the Light band and offers resistance of 4 to 6 lbs which is perfect for a beginner or someone totally out of shape.
The Green Band is the Medium Band, better for people who are at an intermediate level and offer a resistance of 5 to 7 lbs. and
Finally The Blue Band is the Heavy Band, great for advanced or expert levels and offers resistance of 6 to 9 lbs. All the bands are 7 ft long compared to other bands that I’ve owned that are only 4-5 ft long.
This gives you a lot more versatility and allows you to work more muscle groups. Especially if you have injuries that you’re rehabilitating such as a leg or ankle or back.
Yet you can also use it for arms, belly etc depending what exercises you’re using. This kit is wonderful in that it also comes w/ a jump rope that serves a dual purpose.
Resistance Band Is Wonderful For All Fitness Levels
What’s great is this is wonderful for all fitness levels so you can start out as a beginner and work your way up to advanced and not have to buy a second kit. This kit will grow with you.
The bands are also 5 inches wide much wider than other bands of its caliber. I’ve got some that are 4-5 ft long and only 2 -3 inches wide. These are by far much more superior then the other bands and literally a lot less expensive.
