The more resistance bands are stretched out the more resistance they provide.

Example: 35 lb is most likely the max resistance that band can provide, but not what you will get for all exercises.

Start with curls, and if the band in not stretched at the beginning of the curl you will be getting a small fraction of the resistance as you slightly stretch the band during your curl than you would if at the beginning of the curl the band was already substantially stretched and you are stretching it more during the curl.

Also note, you exercise with two bands, so It would be 35 lb  per side, but you can double that to 70# if you pull both ends at the same time with one hand (or leg).

Resistance bands tend to also build lean, toned muscles, whereas with dumbbells you can, if you wish, bulk up. You can build lean, toned muscles with dumbbells as well, but you don’t tend to bulk up with resistance bands.

So, they are very effective and I would recommend them to anyone. Your muscle is technically “unconscious” so therefore it cannot tell whether it is lifting a weight or pulling on resistance bands. It is actually better on your joints and that is why I recommend them.

Yet you can also use it for arms, belly etc depending what exercises you’re using. This kit is wonderful in that it also comes w/ a jump rope that serves a dual purpose.

Resistance Band Is Wonderful For All Fitness Levels

What’s great is this is wonderful for all fitness levels so you can start out as a beginner and work your way up to advanced and not have to buy a second kit. This kit will grow with you.

The bands are also 5 inches wide much wider than other bands of its caliber. I’ve got some that are 4-5 ft long and only 2 -3 inches wide. These are by far much more superior then the other bands and literally a lot less expensive.
